MOTION:CADDIGAN October 28,1997 <br />Regular Meeting <br />SECOND:WILBOURN Ord.No.97-98 <br />RE:REZONING #97-0034,ASHLAND (DUMFRIES MAGISTERIAL <br />DISTRICT) <br />ACTION:APPROVED ALTERNATIVE B <br />WHEREAS,this is a request to rezone 0.4 acres from B-i,General Business to <br />RT-8,Suburban Residential and 1.4 acres from RT-8 to B-i.This will adjust the boundary <br />between the B-i and RT-8 districts to allow a redesign of the entrance to the community.The <br />applicant also proposes to amend the proffered conditions of Rezoning #89-20.These changes <br />do not apply to the school site that has been conveyed to the School Board and the portion of <br />Ashland that has been subdivided and sold for residential lots.The site is located on the north <br />side of Dumfries Road (Route 234)at Spriggs Road (Route 643)and extending approximately <br />one mile west on Dumfries Road,in the Dumfries Magisterial District;and <br />WHEREAS,staff has reviewed the subject application and recommends <br />approval as stated in their staff report prepared September 9,1997;and <br />WHEREAS,the Planning Commission held a public hearing on this item on <br />October 1,1997,and recommended approval as stated in Res.No.97-104;and <br />WHEREAS,a public hearing,duly advertised in a local newspaper for a period <br />of two weeks,was held on October 28,1997,and interested citizens were heard;and <br />WHEREAS,general welfare and good zoning practice are served by the <br />approval of the application; <br />NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED that the Prince William Board of <br />County Supervisors does hereby approve Rezoning #97-0034,Ashland,and accepts the proffers <br />dated October 2,1997 and received by the Office of Planning on October 9,1997; <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Prince William Board of County <br />Supervisors’approval and adoption of any proffers does not relieve the applicant and/or <br />subsequent developers from compliance with the provisions of any applicable ordinances, <br />regulations,or adopted standards.
