MOTION:MCQUIGG June 24,1997 <br />Regular Meeting <br />SECOND:WILBOURN Ord.No,97-63 <br />RE:DENIED SPECIAL USE PERMIT #97-0021,TELEGRAPH ROAD <br />TELECOMMUNICATIONS TOWER (OCCOQUAN MAGISTERIAL <br />DISTRICT) <br />ACTION:APPROVED <br />WHEREAS,this is a request to allow a 495-foot tall telecommunications tower <br />and associated 3200-square foot equipment building to be located near the center of the <br />Parkway Employment Center Sector Plan area at 13210 Old Telegraph Road,approximately <br />one-halfmile south ofMinnieville Road.The site is designated REC,Regional Employment <br />Center in the 1990 Comprehensive Plan and is located in the Occoquan Magisterial District;and <br />WHEREAS,staff has reviewed the subject application and recommends denial <br />as stated in their staff report prepared March 12,1997,and in their presentation at the Planning <br />Commission public hearing on April 3,1997;and <br />WHEREAS,the Planning Commission held a public hearing on this item on <br />April 3,1997 and recommended denial as stated in Res.No.97-03 5;and <br />WHEREAS,a public hearing,duly advertised in a local newspaper for a period <br />of two weeks,was held on June 3,1997 by the Board of County Supervisors and interested <br />citizens were heard;and <br />WHEREAS,the Board of County Supervisors deferred action on this item until <br />June 24,1997 with the June 3,1997 public hearing to remain open;and <br />WHEREAS,general welfare and good zoning practice are served by the denial <br />of the application; <br />NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED that the Prince William Board of <br />County Supervisors does hereby deny Special Use Permit #97-0021,Telegraph Road <br />Telecommunications Tower; <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Board of County Supervisors’ <br />approval and adoption of any conditions does not relieve the applicant and/or subsequent <br />developers from compliance with the provisions of any applicable ordinances,regulations,or <br />adopted standards.
