MOTION:MCQUIGG July 1,1997 <br />Regular Meeting <br />SECOND:HILL Ord.No.97-69 <br />RE:REZONING #97-0018,OLD BRIDGE ROAD HIGHWAY CORRIDOR <br />OVERLAY DISTRICT (OCCOQUAN AND COLES MAGISTERIAL <br />DISTRICTS) <br />ACTION:APPROVED <br />WHEREAS,this is a proposal to establish a Highway Corridor Overlay District <br />(HCOD)with boundaries set 500 feet back from the existing Old Bridge Road right-of-way <br />with the exception that the HCOD will include all of Brooke Center,Tacketts Mill,Lake Ridge <br />Commons,Festival at Old Bridge,and The Glen shopping centers between Gordon Boulevard <br />and the Prince William Parkway.The site is located in the Occoquan and Coles Magisterial <br />Districts;and <br />WHEREAS,staff has reviewed the subject application and recommends <br />approval as stated in their staff report prepared May 12,1997;and <br />WHEREAS,the Planning Commission held a public hearing on this item on <br />June 4,1997 and recommended approval as stated in Res.No.97-060;and <br />WHEREAS,a public hearing,duly advertised in a local newspaper for a period <br />of two weeks,was held on July 1,1997,and interested citizens were heard;and <br />WHEREAS,general welfare and good zoning practice are served by the <br />approval of the proposal; <br />NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED that the Prince William Board of <br />County Supervisors does hereby approve Rezoning #97-0018,Old Bridge Road Highway <br />Corridor Overlay District (HCOD)and does hereby establish a “Suburban Arterial”category <br />Highway Corridor Overlay District with boundaries set 500 feet back along Old Bridge Road, <br />with the exception that the HCOD will include all of Brooke Center,Tacketts Mill,Lake Ridge <br />Commons,Festival at Old Bridge,and The Glen shopping centers,between Gordon Boulevard <br />and the Prince William Parkway; <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Board of County Supervisors’ <br />approval and adoption of any proffers does not relieve the applicant and/or subsequent <br />developers from compliance with the provisions of any applicable ordinances,regulations,or <br />adopted standards.
