MOTION:WILBOURN August 5,1997 <br />Regular Meeting <br />SECOND:MCQUIGG Ord.No.97-79 <br />RE:ZONING TEXT AMENDMENT #98-01;TO ALLOW USE OF <br />MODULAR OR MANUFACTURED UNITS FOR CLASSROOMS ON A <br />TEMPORARY BASIS BY PRIVATE SCHOOLS WITH A SPECIAL USE <br />PERMIT <br />ACTION:APPROVED AS STATED IN EXHIBIT 1 <br />WHEREAS,on July 1,1997,the Board of County Supervisors initiated an <br />amendment to the Prince William County Zoning Ordinance which would allow use of modular <br />or manufactured units on a temporary basis by private schools for classrooms;and <br />WHEREAS,the proposed amendment has been reviewed by the Zoning <br />Ordinance Review Committee;and <br />WHEREAS,on July 16,1997,the Prince William County Planning <br />Commission held a public hearing and recommended approval of the amendment with <br />revisions;and <br />WHEREAS,the Prince William Board of County Supervisors duly ordered, <br />advertised and held a public hearing on August 5,1997,at which time public testimony was <br />received and the above-referenced amendment was considered;and <br />WHEREAS,this amendment is required for the public necessity,convenience, <br />general welfare,and good zoning practice,and is consistent with the intent of Title 15.1-489 of <br />the Code of Virginia and promotes the following purpose of the Zoning Ordinance: <br />To facilitate the creation of a convenient,attractive and harmonious community; <br />NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED that the Prince William Board of <br />County Supervisors does hereby adopt the proposed amendment to the Zoning Ordinance (ZTA <br />98-01)as contained in Exhibit 1. <br />ATTACHMENT:Amendment to Zoning Ordinance 98-01 <br />Votes: <br />Ayes:Hill,Jenkins,McQuigg,Seefeldt,Thompson,Wilbourn <br />Nays:None <br />Absent from Vote:None <br />Absent from Meeting:Barg,Caddigan <br />CERTIFIED COPY E~~J4~2~ <br />Clerk to the Bo rd
