MOTION• STIRRUP November 21, 2006 <br />Regular Meeting <br />SECOND: COVINGTON Ord. No. 06-97 <br />RE: SPECIAL USE PERMIT #PLN2007-00089, WINERY AT LA GRANGE - <br />GAINESVILLE MAGISTERIAL DISTRICT <br />ACTION: APPROVED <br />WHEREAS, this is a request to allow a farm winery with special events and a <br />retail wine shop and to allow the adaptive reuse of an historic building (La Grange) and <br />accessory historic structures. The Special Use Permit (SLIP) site is located on the west side of <br />Antioch Road, approximately 1,720 feet north of its intersection with Thunder Road at 4970 <br />Antioch Road. The special use permit site is identified on County maps as GPIN 7199-43-4890. <br />The site is designated DCR, Designated Cultural Resources and AE, Agricultural or Estate; and <br />WHEREAS, staff has reviewed the subject application and recommends <br />approval, as stated in the staff report; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on this item on <br />October 18, 2006, and deferred action keeping the hearing open, and on November 1, 2006, the <br />Planning Commission closed the hearing after taking testimony and recommended approval, as <br />stated in Planning Commission Res. No. 06-172; and <br />WHEREAS, a Prince William Board of County Supervisors' public hearing, <br />duly advertised in a local newspaper for a period of two weeks, was held on November 21, <br />2006, and interested citizens were heard; and <br />WHEREAS, general welfare and good zoning practice are served by the <br />approval of the application; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that the Prince William Board of <br />County Supervisors does hereby approve Special Use Permit #PLN2007-00089, Winery at La <br />Grange, subject to the conditions dated November 20, 2006; except for Conditions 98 a -d and <br />#12 a in which case the condition language from the November 8, 2006 conditions shall be <br />maintained; and <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Prince William Board of County <br />Supervisors' approval and adoption of any conditions does not relieve the applicant and/or <br />subsequent owners from compliance with the provisions of any applicable ordinances, <br />regulations, or adopted standards. <br />
