MOTION: COVINGTON October 3, 2006 <br />Regular Meeting <br />SECOND: NONE Ord. No. 06-90 <br />RE: COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENT (CPA) #PLN2005-00245, JAM <br />PROPERTY — BRENTSVILLE MAGISTERIAL DISTRICT <br />ACTION: APPROVED <br />WHEREAS, under Section 15.2-2229 of the Code of Virginia, Ann., the Prince <br />William Board of County Supervisors may consider amendments to the Comprehensive Plan; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, by way of Resolution No. 05-236, the Prince William Board of <br />County Supervisors initiated consideration of Comprehensive Plan Amendment #PLN2005- <br />00245, Jam Property, on March 15, 2004 and referred it to the Prince William County Planning <br />Commission; and <br />WHEREAS, this request is to change the long-range land use designation of <br />approximately 11 acres east of Centreville Road, near its intersection with Yorkshire Lane, <br />from General Commercial, Community Employment Center, and Suburban Residential Low, to <br />General Commercial and Suburban Residential High; and <br />WHEREAS, the requested CPA is accompanied by a rezoning application to <br />allow the development of 110 multi -family units, 4 single-family detached units, and a 25,000 <br />square foot office building; and <br />WHEREAS, staff has reviewed the subject application and recommends <br />approval of the Comprehensive Plan amendment; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission, at its public hearing on June 7, 2006, <br />recommended approval, as stated in Planning Commission Res. No. 06-094; and <br />WHEREAS, the Prince William Board of County Supervisors duly ordered, <br />advertised, and held a public hearing on October 3, 2006, at which time public testimony was <br />received and the merits of the above -referenced comprehensive pian amendment were <br />considered; and <br />WHEREAS, the Prince William Board of County Supervisors believes that <br />public general welfare as well as good planning practices are served by the adoption of this <br />comprehensive plan amendment; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that the Prince William Board of <br />County Supervisors does hereby adopt Comprehensive Plan Amendment 4PLN2005-00245, <br />Jam Property; <br />
