MOTION: BARG February 7, 2006 <br />Regular Meeting <br />SECOND: STEWART Ord. No. 06-17 <br />RE: APPROVE REZONING #PLN2005-00589, POTOMAC CENTER <br />RESIDENTIAL ENCLAVE — WOODBRIDGE MAGISTERIAL <br />DISTRICT <br />ACTION: APPROVED <br />WHEREAS, this is a request to rezone approximately 8.95 acres from B-1, <br />General Business, to R-30, Urban Residential, to allow +/-268 multi -family units. The site is <br />located at the northeastern corner of the intersection of Dale Boulevard and I-95, and is <br />identified on County maps as GPIN 8291-94-3373 (part). The site is designated Urban <br />Residential High with Environmental Resource overlay in the Comprehensive Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, staff has reviewed the subject application and recommends denial, <br />as stated in the staff report; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held public hearings on this item on <br />December 21, 2005, and January 18, 2006, and recommends approval, as stated in <br />Planning Commission Res. No. 06-011; and <br />WHEREAS, a Prince William Board of County Supervisors' public hearing, <br />duly advertised in a local newspaper for a period of two weeks, was held on February 7, 2006, <br />and interested citizens were heard; and <br />WHEREAS, general welfare and good zoning practice are served by the <br />approval of the application; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that the Prince William <br />Board of County Supervisors does hereby approve Rezoning #PLN2005-00589 subject to <br />proffers dated February 1, 2006; <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Prince William Board of County <br />Supervisors' approval and adoption of any proffer does not relieve the applicant and/or <br />subsequent owners from compliance with the provisions of any applicable ordinances, <br />regulations, or adopted standards. <br />
