MOTION: CARDIGAN <br />SECOND: PRINCIPI <br />June 22, 2010 <br />Regular Meeting <br />Ord. No. 10-28 <br />RE: ADOPT ANNUAL AMENDMENTS TO THE COUNTY CODE, TO BE <br />EFFECTIVE JULY 19 2010, MANDATED BY CHANGES TO STATE <br />LAW MADE BY THE GOVERNOR AND THE 2010 GENERAL <br />ASSEMBLY: PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO CHAPTERS 11.1 <br />(LICENSES GENERAL), 13 (MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC), 20.5 <br />(PRECIOUS METALS), 26 (TAXATION), 27 (TAXICABS), AND 28 <br />(TELEPHONES) <br />ACTION: APPROVED <br />WHEREAS, the Prince William Board of County Supervisors, pursuant to both <br />general and specific authority granted by the Code of Virginia, has enacted certain provisions <br />of Chapter 11.1 (Licenses General), Chapter 13 (Motor Vehicles and Traffic), Chapter 20.5 <br />(Precious Metals), Chapter 26 (Taxation), Chapter 27 (Taxicabs), and Chapter 28 (Telephones) <br />of the Prince William County Code to parallel certain provisions of the Code of Virginia; and <br />WHEREAS, the parallel provisions of the Code of Virginia have been amended <br />by the 2010 General Assembly and the Governor of Virginia; and <br />WHEREAS, a public hearing, duly advertised, was conducted this date for the <br />purpose of considering adoption of the attached amendments to the Prince William County <br />Code; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that the Prince William Board of <br />County Supervisors does hereby adopt the attached amendments to the Prince William County <br />Code to be effective July 1, 2010. <br />ATTACHMENTS: Code Amendments <br />Votes: <br />Ayes: Caddigan, Covington, Jenkins, May, Nohe, Principi, Stewart, Stirrup <br />Nays: None <br />Absent from Vote: None <br />Absent from Meeting: None <br />For Information: <br />County Executive <br />Police Chief <br />Finance Director <br />Commonwealth's Attorney <br />Sheriff <br />FIMMINt <br />LIN 0"a apd, "TzP11A WN <br />
