MOTION: JENKINS December 13, 2016 <br />Regular Meeting <br />SECOND: PRINCIPI Ord. No. 16-57 <br />RE: AMENDMENTS TO SECTIONS 300 AND 600 OF THE PRINCE <br />WILLIAM COUNTY DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS <br />MANUAL <br />ACTION: APPROVED <br />WHEREAS, the Prince William County Design and Construction Standards <br />Manual was adopted to assist the public in knowing the policies, regulations and standards that <br />apply to Land Development in the County; and <br />WHEREAS, the Design and Construction Standards Manual contains <br />provisions related to requirements applicable to the review and approval of site development <br />plans and plats and construction in accordance with those plans; and <br />WHEREAS, the Prince William County Commercial Development <br />Committee's Development Ordinance Review Team worked with County staff to put forward <br />recommendations to continue promoting Prince William County as "Open for Business;" and <br />WHEREAS, the County is committed to revising the Design and Construction <br />Standards Manual as needed to address improvements to Land Development in the County; and <br />WHEREAS, the County Design and Construction Standards Manual/Zoning <br />Ordinance Advisory Committee was presented the proposed updates on August 19, 2016, and <br />is in support of the proposed amendments; and <br />WHEREAS, on October 18, 2016, the Prince William Board of County <br />Supervisors approved Resolution Number 16-766 initiating Design and Construction Standards <br />Manual amendments to amend Sections 300 and 600 of the Prince William County Design and <br />Construction Standards Manual; and <br />WHEREAS, the Prince William County Planning Commission duly ordered, <br />advertised, and held a public hearing on November 16, 2016, and adopted Resolution Number <br />16-076, unanimously recommending approval of these amendments; and <br />WHEREAS, the Prince William County Board of County Supervisors duly <br />ordered, advertised, and held a public hearing on December 13, 2016, at which time public <br />testimony was received and the merits of the amendments were considered; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board finds that these amendments promote and secure the <br />health, safety, and general welfare of the County and its citizens; <br />
