MOTION: CADDIGAN September 6, 2016 <br />Regular Meeting <br />SECOND: JENKINS Ord. No. 16-35 <br />RE: PROHIBIT PARKING ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF FULLER HEIGHTS <br />ROAD — STATE ROUTE 619, BETWEEN 19212 FULLER HEIGHTS <br />ROAD AND 19240 FULLER HEIGHTS ROAD, PURSUANT TO THE <br />AUTHORITY GRANTED BY SECTION 46.2-1222 OF THE CODE OF <br />VIRGINIA — POTOMAC MAGISTERIAL DISTRICT <br />ACTION: APPROVED <br />WHEREAS, requests have been received through the Potomac District <br />Supervisor's office and the Department of Transportation (DOT) asking for no parking signs on <br />Fuller Heights Road; and <br />WHEREAS, on April 25, 2016, the management of the Shenandoah Station <br />Apartments formally requested no parking signs on the south side of their frontage along Fuller <br />Heights Road; and <br />WHEREAS, the DOT installed notice signs soliciting public comments on the <br />proposed no parking from June 10, 2016 to June 28, 2016. Seven citizens called in to comment; <br />of these, all seven were in support; and <br />WHEREAS, the Virginia DOT has no objection to Prince William County <br />installing no parking signs under a permit; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 46.2-1222 of the Code of Virginia, provides for the <br />installation of signs regulating parking on secondary highways by certain counties; and <br />WHEREAS, Fuller Heights Road — State Route 619 is a secondary road; and <br />WHEREAS, the Prince William Board of County Supervisors voted on <br />August 3, 2016, by Resolution No. 16-635, to authorize a public hearing to consider the <br />adoption of an ordinance to prohibit parking on the south side of Fuller Heights Road — State <br />Route 619 between 19212 and 19240 Fuller Heights Road, pursuant to the authority granted by <br />Section 46.2-1222 of the Code of Virginia in the Potomac Magisterial District; and <br />WHEREAS, a public hearing has been duly advertised for this purpose and was <br />conducted on September 6, 2016, pursuant to Section 15.2-1427 VA Code Ann., and all <br />interested parties were heard; <br />
