MOTION: <br />SECOND <br />NOHE <br />CADDIGAN <br />June 21, 2016 <br />Regular Meeting <br />Ord. No. 16-22 <br />RE: ADOPT ANNUAL AMENDMENTS TO THE COUNTY CODE, <br />EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2016, AS MANDATED BY CHANGES TO STATE <br />LAW MADE BY THE GOVERNOR AND THE 2012 GENERAL <br />ASSEMBLY: PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO CHAPTERS 2 <br />(ADMINISTRATION), 4 (ANIMALS AND FOWL), 13 (MOTOR <br />VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC), 16 (MISCELLANEOUS OFFENSES), 23 <br />(SEWERS AND SEWAGE DISPOSAL), 23.2 (STORMWATER <br />MANAGEMENT) AND 26 (TAXATION) <br />ACTION: APPROVED <br />WHEREAS, the Prince William Board of County Supervisors, pursuant to both <br />general and specific authority granted by the Code of Virginia, has enacted certain provisions <br />of Chapters 2 (Administration), 4 (Animals and Fowl), 13 (Motor Vehicles and Traffic), 16 <br />(miscellaneous offenses), 23 (Sewers and Sewage Disposal), 23.2 (Stormwater Management) <br />and 26 (Taxation), of the Prince William County Code to parallel certain provisions of the <br />Code of Virginia; and <br />WHEREAS, the parallel provisions of the Code of Virginia have been amended <br />by the 2016 General Assembly and the Governor of Virginia or were previously amended; and <br />WHEREAS, current federal case law supports that certain sections of the Prince <br />William County Code be repealed; and <br />WHEREAS, a public hearing, duly advertised, was conducted this date for the <br />purpose of considering adoption of the attached amendments to the Prince William County <br />Code; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that the Prince William Board of <br />County Supervisors does hereby adopt the attached amendments to the Prince William County <br />Code to be effective July 1, 2016. <br />ATTACHMENT: Code Amendments <br />
