MOTION:HILL <br />SECOND:CADDIGAN <br />December 16,1997 <br />Regular Meeting <br />Res.No.97-1025 <br />RE:ADD TO 1998 LEGISLATIVE PROGRAM -OPPOSITION TO NVBIA <br />PROPOSAL TO CHANGE VDOT SUBDIVISION STREET STANDARDS <br />FROM MINIMUM TO MAXIMUM STANDARDS <br />ACTION:APPROVED <br />WHEREAS,the Prince William Board of County Supervisors annually adopts <br />its Legislative Program;and <br />WHEREAS,the Northern Virginia Building Industries Association (NVBIA) <br />has requested that the Prince William Board of County Supervisors consider a proposal to <br />change the recently adopted VDOT subdivision street standards from minimum to maximum <br />standards;and <br />WHEREAS,such an approach would limit the ability of Prince William County <br />to respond to legitimate community concerns in the areas of sidewalks,street lights,Street <br />connections and volumes,landscaping,curbs and gutters; <br />NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Prince William Board of <br />County Supervisors does hereby oppose changing the VDOT subdivision street standards from <br />minimum to maximum standards and does hereby incorporate this position into its 1998 <br />Legislative Program. <br />Votes: <br />Ayes:Barg,Caddigan,Hill,Jenkins,McQuigg,Seefeldt,Thompson,Wilboum <br />Nays:None <br />Absent from Vote:None <br />Absent from Meeting:None <br />CERTIFIED COPY <br />Clerk to the
