MOTION:HILL December 2,1997 <br />Regular Meeting <br />SECOND:BARG Res.No.97-981 <br />RE:DEFER ACTION ON ZONING TEXT AMENDMENT #95-14 - <br />COMMERCIAL RECREATION FACILITIES <br />ACTION:APPROVED <br />WHEREAS,on May 9,1995,the Board of County Supervisors initiated an <br />amendment to the Prince William County Zoning Ordinance which would modify or remove <br />the “commercial recreation facility,outdoor”use as a listed special use permit within the A-l <br />zoning district;and <br />WHEREAS,the proposed amendment has been reviewed by the Zoning <br />Ordinance Review Committee;and <br />WHEREAS,on September 20,1995 and January 17,1996,the Prince William <br />County Planning Commission held public hearings and recommended revisions to the <br />amendment to address all commercial recreation facilities uses countywide;and <br />WHEREAS,on July 2,1997 and November 5,1997,the Prince William <br />County Planning Commission held public hearings and recommended approval of the <br />amendment with revisions;and <br />WHEREAS,the Prince William Board of County Supervisors duly ordered, <br />advertised and held a public hearing on December 2,1997,at which time public testimony was <br />received and the above-referenced amendment was considered; <br />NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Prince William Board of <br />County Supervisors does hereby defer further action on-the proposed amendment until March <br />1998 and returns this matter to the Planning Commission for further consideration; <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Planning Department staff will forward a <br />draft of the proposed Zoning Text Amendment to all members of the Board of County <br />Supervisors at least two weeks prior to its next presentation to the Board for consideration.
