MOTION:WILBOURN July 22,1997 <br />Regular Meeting <br />SECOND:THOMPSON Ord.No.97-75 <br />RE:REZONING #97-0005,BELL WOOD (GAINESVILLE MAGISTERIAL <br />DISTRICT) <br />ACTION:APPROVED <br />WHEREAS,this is a request to rezone 522.5 acres from A-i,Agricultural to <br />PMR,Planned Mixed Residential.This rezoning will allow the development of 975 dwellings, <br />with no more than 225 single-family attached dwellings and no apartments.The development <br />is proposed as a gated-community with an 18-hole golf course.The site is located on the east <br />side of James Madison Highway (Route 15)and Old Carolina Road,approximately 1/2 mile <br />north of 1-66,in the Gainesville Magisterial District;and <br />WHEREAS,staff has reviewed the subject application and recommends <br />approval as stated in their staff report prepared June 4,1997;and <br />WHEREAS,the Planning Commission held a public hearing on this item on <br />June 18,1997,and recommended approval as stated in Res.No.97-067;and <br />WHEREAS,a public hearing,duly advertised in a local newspaper for a period <br />of two weeks,was held on July 22,1997,and interested citizens were heard;and <br />WHEREAS,general welfare and good zoning practice are served by the <br />approval of the application; <br />NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED that the Prince William Board of <br />County Supervisors does hereby approve Rezoning #97-0005,Bellwood,and accepts the <br />proffers dated July 8,1997; <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Board of County Supervisors’ <br />approval and adoption of any proffers does not relieve the applicant and/or subsequent <br />developers from compliance with the provisions of any applicable ordinances,regulations,or <br />adopted standards. <br />Votes: <br />Ayes:Burg,Jenkins,McQuigg,Seefeldt,Thompson,Wilbourn <br />Nays:Caddigan <br />Absent from Vote:Hill <br />Absent from Meeting:None <br />For information: <br />Acting Planning Director <br />Michael D.Lubeley,Esquire <br />Walsh,Colucci,Stackhouse,Emrich &Lubeley,P.C. <br />13663 Office Place,Suite 201 <br />Woodbridge,Virginia 22192 <br />CERTIFIED COPY
