MOTION:JENKINS May 6,1997 <br />Regular Meeting <br />SECOND:HILL Res.No,97-356 <br />RE:PROCLAIM -CORRECTIONAL EMPLOYEES WEEK -MAY 4-10,1997 <br />ACTION:APPROVED <br />WHEREAS,the operation of correctional facilities represents a crucial <br />component of our criminal justice system;and <br />WHEREAS,Correctional Professionals perform a critical role in making Prince <br />William County and the City of Manassas a safer place to live and work;and <br />WHEREAS,Correctional Officers/Employees are dedicated professionals who <br />have faithfully served the public;and <br />WHEREAS,the 173 uniformed Correctional Officers and 42 Support Staff of <br />the Prince William-Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center are performing their job in an <br />exemplary manner and are responsible for the safety and dignity of human beings charged to <br />their care;and <br />WHEREAS,Correctional Personnel work under demanding circumstances and <br />face danger in their daily work lives; <br />NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Prince William Board of <br />County Supervisors does hereby proclaim May 4-10,1997 as “Correctional Employees Week” <br />in Prince William County; <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Prince William Board of County <br />Supervisors does hereby recognize and appreciate the important work performed by this <br />Nation’s Correctional Employees,and in particular,the work of the employees of the Prince <br />William-Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center. <br />Votes: <br />Ayes:Barg,Caddigan,Hill,Jenkins,McQuigg,Seefeldt,Thompson,Wilboum <br />Nays:None <br />Absent from Vote:None <br />Absent from Meeting:None <br />For Information <br />Superintendent,Adult Detention Center I <br />CERTIFIED COPY
