MOTION: CADDIGAN February 16, 2010 <br />Regular Meeting <br />SECOND: NOHE Ord. No. 10 -08 <br />RE: SPECIAL USE PERMIT #PLN2010- 00139, POTOMAC HOTELS — <br />DUMFRIES MAGISTERIAL DISTRICT <br />ACTION: APPROVED <br />WHEREAS, this is a request to allow two hotels with a combined maximum of <br />192 rooms with a building height greater than 45 feet and a floor area ratio (FAR) greater than <br />0.40. The ±4.87 -acre site is located between the north and southbound lanes of Jefferson Davis <br />Highway, approximately 900 feet north of the intersection with Quantico Gateway Drive. The <br />site is identified on County maps as GPIN 8188 -67 -7083, is zoned B -1, General Business, is <br />designated Office in the Comprehensive Plan, and is located in the Potomac Communities <br />Revitalization Plan area; and <br />WHEREAS, staff has reviewed the subject application and recommends <br />approval, as stated in the staff report; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission, at its public hearing on January 20, <br />2010, recommended approval, as stated in Planning Commission Res. No. 10 -013; and <br />WHEREAS, a Board of County Supervisors' public hearing, duly advertised in <br />a local newspaper for a period of two weeks, was held on February 16, 2010, and interested <br />citizens were heard; and <br />WHEREAS, general welfare and good zoning practice are served by the <br />approval of the application; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that the Prince William Board of <br />County Supervisors does hereby approve SUP #PLN2010- 00139, Potomac Hotels, subject to <br />the conditions dated February 16, 2010; <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Board of County Supervisors' <br />approval and adoption of any conditions does not relieve the applicant and /or subsequent <br />owners from compliance with the provisions of any applicable ordinances, regulations, or <br />adopted standards. <br />1 <br />
