MOTION:MCQIJIGG March 18,1997 <br />Regular Meeting <br />SECOND:CADDIGAN Res,No,97-215 <br />RE:CALL OF A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER REVISIONS TO THE <br />BUILDING DEVELOPMENT FEE SCHEDULE <br />ACTION:APPROVED <br />WHEREAS,Section 36-105 ofthe Code of Virginia and the Prince William <br />County Code,Chapter 5 Buildings and Building Regulations,Section 5-19 Permit and <br />Inspection Fees provides for the Board of County Supervisors to adopt a fee schedule to defray <br />the cost of enforcement ofthe Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code;and <br />WHEREAS,the Proposed FY1998 Fiscal Plan recommends three new <br />expenditure items in the Building Development Division Budget that requires additional <br />revenues;and <br />WHEREAS,the Building Development Fee Schedule is proposed to increase <br />the fees for residential construction approximately 12.5%and for commercial construction by <br />approximately 5%to support the Proposed FY1998 Fiscal Plan which will generate <br />approximately $305,600;and <br />WHEREAS,additional increases and decreases to the fee schedule are proposed <br />that are intended to be revenue neutral and are intended to improve customer service by <br />increasing the efficiency of existing staff and to make adjustments to charge the appropriate <br />amount for the level of effort for the associated tasks; <br />NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Prince William Board of <br />County Supervisors does hereby call a public hearing to be held on April 7,1997 at 7:30 P.M.at <br />the Stonewall Jackson High School and continued on April 8,1997 at 7:30 P.M.at the <br />Woodbridge High School to consider revisions to the Building Development Fee Schedule <br />attached hereto and incorporated herein; <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk to the Board properly advertise <br />notice of the public hearing for the stated purpose in a newspaper of general circulation in Prince <br />William County for two consecutive weeks prior to the public hearing. <br />ATTACHMENT
