MOTION:BARG <br />SECOND:MCQUIGG <br />March 4,1997 <br />Regular Meeting <br />Res.No.97-174 <br />RE:APPROVE REIMBURSEMENT OF CLAIM FOR LEGAL FEES BY <br />RONALD GITLIN <br />ACTION:APPROVED <br />WHEREAS,Ronald Gitlin,Business Taxation Supervisor,was charged with <br />assault and battery by his subordinate William T.Greene,Account Clerk I,and was found not <br />guilty by the General District Court,and has made a claim to the Board of County Supervisors <br />for $1564.00 for legal expenses for his defense and expungement of his record;and <br />WHEREAS,the County’s Indemnification Policy permits the Board to <br />reimburse employees for legal expenses incurred in the defense of criminal charges arising out <br />of their employment when the employee is acquitted of those charges;and <br />WHEREAS,an internal investigation by the County’s EEO Officer,conducted <br />because the alleged activity occurred in the workplace,concluded that there was no evidence to <br />support the charges;and <br />WHEREAS,the Finance Director and the County Attorney have recommended <br />the payment of said legal expenses; <br />NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Prince William Board of <br />County Supervisors does hereby approve payment of Ronald Gitlin’s legal expenses in the <br />amount of $1564.00 from Finance -Posting and Reporting Account No.2008163240. <br />Votes: <br />Ayes:Barg,Caddigan,Hill,Jenkins,McQuigg,Seefeldt,Thompson,Wilbourn <br />Nays:None <br />Absent from Vote:None <br />Absent from Meeting:None <br />For Information: <br />County Attorney <br />CERTIFIED COPY <br />ClerlVto the Boar
