MOTION:JENKINS <br />SECOND:CADDIGAN <br />February 18,1997 <br />Regular Meeting <br />Res.No.97-126 <br />RE:COMMEND/RETIREMENT -MICHAEL T.NEARY -POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT <br />ACTION:APPROVED <br />WHEREAS,Michael T.Neary became a Prince William County employee on <br />June 15,1970,when he was hired as a Police Officer with the Police Department;and <br />WHEREAS,Officer Neary’s position was reclassified to Police Officer I on July <br />1,1974,and was promoted to Police Officer II on August 1,1980;and <br />WHEREAS,Officer Neary has served with dedication in several areas of the <br />Police Department including the Operations Division and the Special Operations Bureau;and <br />WHEREAS,Officer Neary is recognized for his compassion and commitment to <br />the citizens ofPrince William County;and <br />WHEREAS,Officer Neary has provided outstanding service to the Prince <br />William community throughout his distinguished law enforcement career;and <br />WHEREAS,Officer Neary retired on December 31,1996,after more than <br />twenty-six years of dedicated service with Prince William County Government; <br />NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Prince William Board of <br />County Supervisors does hereby commend Police Officer Michael T.Neary for his service to the <br />citizens ofPrince William County and conveys best wishes to him in the future. <br />Votes: <br />Ayes:Barg,Caddigan,Hill,Jenkins,McQuigg,Seefeldt,Thompson,Wilbourn <br />Nays:None <br />Absent from Vote:None <br />Absent from Meeting:None <br />CERTIFIED COPY <br />Cler!t to the Board
