January21,1997 <br />Regular Meeting <br />Ord,#97-14 <br />Page Two <br />The Mine Road neighborhood involved in this rezoning has remained rural in <br />character,and has not developed as an urban or suburban residential density since it was zoned <br />prior to 1963. <br />The Board has been requested by some residents of the Mine Road neighborhood <br />involved in this rezoning to rezone the area to A-i,Agricultural to retain the rural character of <br />the neighborhood,to eliminate the split zoning of property in the area,and to return the zoning <br />to the A-i district previously reflected on the official County Zoning Map prior to the discovery <br />of the mistake and which these residents felt their property had always been zoned, <br />WHEREAS,general welfare and good zoning practice are served by the <br />approval ofthe application; <br />NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED that the Prince William Board of <br />County Supervisors does hereby approve Rezoning #96-0025,Board of County Supervisors - <br />Mine Road Area; <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Board of County Supervisors~ <br />approval and adoption of any conditions or proffers does not relieve the applicant and/or <br />subsequent developers from compliance with the provisions of any applicable ordinances, <br />regulations,or adopted standards, <br />Votes: <br />Ayes:Barg,Caddigan,Hill,Jenkins,McQuigg,Seefeldt,Thompson,Wilbourn <br />Nays:None <br />Absent from Vote:None <br />Absent from Meeting:None <br />For information: <br />Acting Planning Director <br />CERTIFIED COPY
