MOTION:CADDIGAN January 7,1997 <br />Regular Meeting <br />SECOND:JENKINS Res,No,97-12 <br />RE:AUThORIZE A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER ENDORSEMENT <br />OF THE PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY’S TRANSPORTATION <br />ENHANCEMENT PROGRAMS <br />ACTION:APPROVED <br />WHEREAS,federal funds under the Intermodal Surface Transportation <br />Efficiency Act of 1991 (ISTEA)are available for transportation enhancement projects;and <br />WHEREAS,Prince William County is required to submit to the Virginia <br />Department of Transportation a list of projects to be included in the Commonwealth’s <br />Transportation Enhancement Program;and <br />WHEREAS,the following projects have been submitted for consideration: <br />1.Brentsvile Courthouse Historical Centre Rehabilitation,Sponsored by Friends of <br />Brentsviule Historical Courthouse Centre,located in Brentsville Virginia.Estimated total <br />project cost is $725,000.00.Along with restoration of the Old Courthouse this project <br />includes the removal of the Lucasville Road Bridge over Broad Run and replacing the bridge <br />north of the Courthouse over Broad Run. <br />2.Renovation of the Quantico Commuter Rail Station,Sponsored by Prince William <br />County.The estimated total project cost is $75,000.00. <br />3.Quantico Potomac Transportation Trail Facility.Sponsored by the Town of Quantico. <br />The estimated total project cost is $228,086.00. <br />4.Improvement and Beautification of Route 619 to the Entrance of Quantico National <br />Cemetery.Sponsored by Prince William County Department of Public Works.Estimated <br />cost is $250,000. <br />NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Prince William Board of <br />County Supervisors does hereby determine that it shall conduct a public hearing to consider the <br />endorsement of the applications for the Transportation Enhancement Program. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk to the Board properly advertise <br />notice of the public hearing for the stated purpose in a newspaper of general circulation in Prince <br />William County.
