MOTION: CADDIGAN January 4, 2005 <br />Regular Meeting <br />SECOND: JENKINS Res. No. 05-5 <br />RE: APPROVE THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN <br />U.S. IMMIGRATION AND CUSTOMS ENFORCEMENT AND THE <br />BOARD OF COUNTY SUPERVISORS OF PRINCE WILLIAM <br />COUNTY; BUDGET AND APPROPRIATE $13,000 IN REVENUE TO <br />THE POLICE DEPARTMENT; AND AUTHORIZE THE CHIEF OF <br />POLICE TO EXECUTE THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br />ACTION: APPROVED <br />WIIEREAS, by Section 15.2-1726, Code of Virginia, the Board of County <br />Supervisors is authorized to enter into agreements for consolidation of police departments or <br />for cooperation in furnishing police services; and <br />WHEREAS, Prince William County and the U.S. Immigration and Customs <br />Enforcement recognize the necessity for each other to participate in the Annandale High <br />Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Money Laundering Task Force; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Supervisors is desirous of entering into such <br />an agreement with the U.S. immigration and Customs Enforcement regarding the <br />reimbursement of overtime expenses and other related investigative costs associated with the <br />Annandale HIDTA Money Laundering Task Force; and <br />WHEREAS, the County Police Department will act as Project Administrator of <br />these funds; and <br />WHEREAS, the County Police Department agrees to be the Fiscal Agent for <br />expenditures of these funds; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Prince William Board of <br />County Supervisors does hereby approve and accept the attached agreement, which terminates <br />on September 30, 2005, with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and budgets and <br />appropriates up to $13,000, as shown below; <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief of Police is authorized to <br />execute this agreement on behalf of the Board of County Supervisors. <br />
