MOTION: NOHE January 4, 2005 <br />Regular Meeting <br />SECOND: CARDIGAN Res. No. 05-18 <br />RE: 2005 GENERAL ASSEMBLY — LEGISLATIVE POSITIONS <br />ACTION: APPROVED <br />WHEREAS, the Prince William Board of County Supervisors adopted its 2005 <br />Legislative Program on December 7, 2004; and <br />WHEREAS, the 2005 General Assembly is considering numerous bills, <br />resolutions, and budget amendments; and <br />WHEREAS, staff has identified additional issues that are appropriate for the <br />Prince William Board of County Supervisors to provide comment; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Prince William Board of <br />County Supervisors does hereby take the following positions on the following legislative <br />issues: <br />Request amendments to remove proposed unfunded state mandate <br />requiring local governments to adhere to Pedcral Noise Abatement <br />Policies for all locally funded and managed highway construction and <br />maintenance projects — HB 1526 (Frederick) <br />2. Oppose all measures that would limit local authority to set the rate of <br />local BPOL taxation — HB 1504 (Shuler) <br />3.
